Beginnings

And now for the real celebration-- I'M DONE! No more class, no more teaching, no finals, no nothin'. I am done! To celebrate, here are pictures:

This is Colin's "I'm-excited-to-be-almost-done-with-school-but-all-the-way-done-with-ROTC!" face when we were at Dining Out :)

This is Emily and Josh. This is Emily's:
"I-haven't-given-my-thesis-presentation-yet-so-get-this-camera-out-of-my-face" face.

Emily was happy once her presentation was over :)

We are happy to be almost done!

Accomplished and Complete

Complete! Done, ended, concluded, finalized and finished. Well, almost.

Yesterday was my last 'final.' I had an interview with Miranda to finish up this semester. We talked about all the final projects I had turned in, and she brought up the discussion we had in December. That ended up being over half the interview--her talking about how she felt that her "letting me know how I am perceived" must have had a great effect because I have received nothing but good reviews from all my other supervisors (cooperating teachers and Elicia who comes and observes me teach.) Miranda thinks she has created this defining moment in my life--that her talk with me was what made me reach the potential I "wasn't living up to."

As it was, I didn't respond. I've at least tried to move on from her belittling lecture. The only thing I would have wanted to accomplish by responding to her, was to help her realize that she was wrong. She was wrong to say all those things about me as a teacher and as a person. She was wrong to say all those things to my face. And she was wrong about her perception of me--it was completely skewed to fit some weird universe she must live in. However, listening to her talk, I realized that my telling her off would accomplish nothing. Maybe it would be nice to tell her off for being such a jerk, but it wouldn't have changed anything. So, it wasn't worth it to me. She can think what she wants, even if it is wrong.

Now, all I have to do is finish teaching at MMHS this week (three more days!), then there is a week and a half off (I get spring break for the first time since high school), and then GRADUATION!!! (I'm excited. We are going to Disneyland to celebrate.)

And I found this picture this morning. I love these girls

Almost...

Colin and I are almost there. That illusive graduation is now tangible.

I am all but done as of 2 minutes ago. The huge project I had this semester was my Teacher Work Sample, and that is officially finished and uploaded to be graded. (Let's not talk about the fact that this huge project was just a bunch of hoops to jump through so the program can be accredited, and how no one is going to ever read this--maybe Miranda, but I don' t think she wants to read a dozen of these. They are boring...)

This is the title page. It looks better in person...

I have 3 more things to finish before graduation:
1- Print my Professional Portfolio--another beast of a project that was complete earlier this week. (I will use this when I am applying for jobs, which may be soon...)
2- Final Interview with Miranda--still confused at her, but it's not worth the effort to worry about it
3- Finish off student teaching-- next week is my final week at MMHS. A bit bittersweet when I first think about it, but then I realize that my mind checked out at the end of last week. I'm so done with school. I'm ready to move on to... whatever is coming next. Will it be teaching? Grad School? Mommy? All I know is that I'm graduating. I don't know what we will do after...

Side note: discovered this photographer of whom I love (at least some of his stuff)

Charlie Cho. Check him out.
